AWESOME! This hike took tons of planning since we've never really done this on our own. Now we have our backpacks ready for next weekend! The weather was cool (under 70) and the walk was extremely enjoyable. Arrived at the trailhead a bit before 11am. Once you see the falls, the trail winds down with very slippery rocks and a ledge with not much to hold onto. I suppose this would be much easier to manuever when there's less water coming over the falls (August).
Found hiking boots for me and new shoes for Sarah on clearance at REI, along with hiking boots for Sarah on SALE for next spring, got each of us a pair of Thorlo socks along with a hiker's first aid pack and cute matching sun visors for all!
An excellent beginning to our outdoor adventures!
We thought we were going to Denny Creek Trail... but ended up at Franklin Trail (maybe there really isn't a Denny Creek Trail and I messed something up). On the way back down, I kept thinking of you and your pictures and then then name of your #1 hike kept registering in my mind. Here I see that we did actually go to the same place your family hiked. How cool is that!?!?!? It was a nice hike. We also checked out the camp ground, but it's difficult finding a campsite this side of the mountains that will find a condo sized tent! LOL!
